Amber R. Cohen joined
Schonland & Associates, P.C. in 2008 as Associate Counsel. Prior to
earning her law degree, Ms. Cohen was employed with Schonland &
Associates since 2003 as a paralegal. She concentrates her legal practice in
the areas of family law, probate and estates, guardianships of minors and
incapacitated persons as well as civil litigation. Attorney Cohen is
passionate about her work in representing those who are in need of legal
representation, and strives to follow our firm’s promise of integrity, commitment and results.
Born
in Boston, Massachusetts,
Attorney Cohen lived in Colorado
for 11 years. She attended high school in the Aspen Valley (Roaring Fork)
and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at
Boulder. During her undergraduate program, Ms. Cohen volunteered in many
programs during which time she began to cultivate the desire to assist
people. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in the
law. In May of 2008, Attorney Cohen earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Southern New England School of Law
cum laude (now known as University of Massachusetts School of Law). Attorney
Cohen had the honor of serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Roundtable Symposium Law Journal. She is the recipient of the Sarah Clarman Bernstein Prize for
Academic Excellence, the Academic Achievement Award (class rank # 2), and
Pro Bono Award honored by the New Center for Legal Advocacy. Ms. Cohen is a published author of A Square Peg Into A Round Hole: Trade Dress Protection of Websites, The

(2008). Attorney
Cohen is an active member in the following organizations: American Bar
Association, Member; Massachusetts Bar Association, Member; Plymouth County
Bar Association, Member; New Center for Legal Advocacy, Volunteer Attorney;
Bristol County Bar Association, Board Member, Young Lawyers Division;
Plymouth District Bar Association, Member. Attorney Cohen is admitted to
practice before all Massachusetts
courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of
Massachusetts. She
enjoys spending her down time with her family and friends. She loves to
stay active, reading and traveling. |
